Field Trips

Hey sports fans! We would love to host your team at our farm! Your game plan will be an Agri-taining, extra Ag-citing Agricultural Ag-venture here at the farm. Bring your class for an hour or bring a sack lunch for a days adventure. Depending on the age group of your students, we have activities for everyone on your team!

For the younger grades, we have a maze that suits just their size. Moms and dads won't get nervous about leading their group through this one! In addition, the kids will be on the hunt for certain items throughout the maze.

For the older grades, we have 2 mazes that your students will have access to. Depending on the amount of time you'd like to spend here at the farm, you may choose to do one or do both!

New to our field trip agenda is our area called Pumpkinville! Pedal powered race cars that suit children from 5 years of age to 300 pounds seems to be the hit of this area. Yes, the students can race their teachers! Take it from me, the adults seem to get tired out quicker than the kids! The hay fort, stone maze, checkers, connect four, volleyball, pumpkin patch and the animal education barn is all out in this area.

Your cost is $4.00 per attendee (teacher is free of charge). Infants and toddlers are free if not part of the program

We do have picnic areas set up around the farm. If you would like to bring a sack lunch or just have a snack we can accommodate you. We do sell bottled water, chips, pop, candy at the concessions, please feel free to bring your own if you'd like.

We also offer a bit of Agricultural fun (education) to the maze. This is optional and is only offered upon request. We have several activities based on the age group of your students. The activity is sponsored by Berrien County Farm Bureau of Berrien Springs.

I recall last year many of the kids being very thirsty when they were finished. It would be up to you to bring juice or water for them if you'd like.

Please remember that all activities are outdoors. If you do schedule a trip, please ask for a cell phone number where you can reach us the morning of your trip if weather is questionable. We will not cancel due to rain, this is your call. The only time that we will not allow a trip to happen is if it is lightning, due to obvious safety reasons.

So would you like more information? Please contact us by email, to let us know a date that you would like to come.

Morning of trip: 1. Call if you feel weather is questionable or want to inquire on trail conditions. You should by this point have received my cell phone number. If not please ask. We usually don't arrive at the farm much earlier than you arrive as we to are getting kids off to school in the morning. Late morning, afternoon arrivals, you may call the farm phone at 269-422-2378.

2. Bus arrives at the farm. We will greet you at the front door of the greenhouse. At this time we can take care of the financial transactions of the trip. NOTE: The teacher will pay one transaction, including adults accompanying the trip.

3. Kids will come off the bus for rules and/or directions.

4. The rest of the field trip will depend on the activities that you decided on. Wow what a lot of information! Please don't hesitate to call or email if you have additional concerns or questions. It's been my experience that not 1 field trip is like another. Each teacher has their own idea of what a trip should include.

Look forward to talking to you soon!
